Over the years we have thought off and on about adoption. We love children and would gladly have more. The idea of giving a home and family to a child without means alot. My brothers are adopted from South Korea so I have some history with adoption.
I have even looked into it and then I stop because it just makes me sick. It costs $25,00-$35,000 to adopt a child and to me this is highway robbery. There are many families that would gladly open their homes and hearts to these children, but it is financially impossible.
We could never save that much money and loans are not an option, so what do we do? We stop looking and know that there is a child that will never have a home due to finances.
I have a special heart for children of latin america, and even more so for those with Heart Disease.
It breaks my heart that though we have the love to give, we cannot give it. (Though I have no clue where we would put another child in our current living arrangement, we would need to move to a 4-5 bedroom house)

Hi, I bumped over from NW and noticed the special place in your heart for kids with heart disease. I don’t know if you know about rainbowkids.com, but they often waive fees for parents who want to adopt kids with special needs. I did a search just now and it stated there are 65 children with heart defects right now who are in need of adoption, including one set of triplet boys from latin america! (yikes!)
No one who has adoption and love in their heart should be held back from sharing that love with children!

I agree. One problem we would have is with the home study and our financials. Most places want to see you be at a certain income level and we are not there right now. If I work then we would be, but then we would have the issue of child care and heart children have health issues that make child care harder.
